Mission

What the role does and why it matters here.

Multiple pillars, multiple entities, and a growing list of contracts and vendors don't run themselves. You own the infrastructure underneath everyone else's work: the entity structure, the contracts, the vendor relationships, and the finance ops and compliance calendar that keep Lucentive out of trouble. When the role is working, nobody else has to think about it. You make sure the deal can be signed, the invoice gets paid, the filing lands on time, and the next audit finds a paper trail instead of a scramble.

Responsibilities

What you would own.

Own the entity structure

Own the entity structure across Lucentive: filings, registered agents, and the paperwork that keeps each entity in good standing.

Manage contract lifecycle

Manage the contract lifecycle for vendors, partners, and service providers: drafting, tracking, renewals, and the follow-up when nobody's watching the date.

Run finance operations

Run finance operations: invoicing, payables, expense tracking, and the reconciliation that makes the founder's financial picture trustworthy.

Maintain the compliance calendar

Maintain the compliance calendar across jurisdictions and entities, and flag what's coming before it's due, not after.

Manage vendor relationships

Select and manage vendor relationships (legal, accounting, banking, tooling) so Lucentive gets real service, not just an invoice.

Build the operating systems

Build the operating systems (checklists, trackers, templates) that let this work scale beyond one person's memory.

How you think and work

Six traits the work demands.

Pedigree isn't the filter. Disposition is. The six traits below are what the work actually asks of you.

  1. Agentic intuition

You read agents the way a manager reads a direct report: when to trust the output, when to interrupt the run, when to take the wheel back.

You know when an AI-drafted compliance summary is good enough to act on and when the filing is important enough that you read the source yourself.

  2. Critical thinking

Confident-sounding output gets the same scrutiny as anything else, your own work included.

You've caught a vendor contract renewing on terms nobody would have agreed to if they'd actually read it.

  3. Curiosity

You pull on threads. You read outside the lane. You follow a question past the first plausible answer.

You read the filing requirement in full instead of trusting the summary someone else wrote.

  4. Agency

You move without being told. You decide, ship, own the call. No one has to write the playbook for you.

You've built the compliance tracker before anyone asked for one, because waiting for a missed deadline was not an acceptable way to find out it was needed.

  5. Systems thinking, long view

You see how the parts connect, and where this goes in three years.

You set up the entity structure knowing which parts of it will still be doing their job after Lucentive doubles in size.

  6. Leadership instinct

You orchestrate work across humans, agents, and stakeholders. You switch register between a workspace ticket, an architect call, and a senior bank room in the same day without losing what you came in to say.

You keep a vendor, an accountant, and a founder's urgency in view during the same conversation without losing track of who owes what.

Useful background

  • You have run operations for a small company or a multi-entity structure, owning entities, contracts, and vendor relationships directly.
  • You are comfortable with finance ops fundamentals: invoicing, payables, basic reconciliation, and reading a P&L well enough to flag what looks wrong.
  • You track a compliance calendar across more than one jurisdiction without a filing slipping past you.
  • You read a contract closely enough to catch the clause that matters before it becomes a problem.
  • You build the tracker or checklist nobody asked for, because relying on memory was not an option.
  • You've operated across multiple legal entities or jurisdictions at once.
  • You've worked with outside counsel or accountants as a peer, not just a requester.
  • You've set up finance or compliance infrastructure from a near-zero starting point.

Pedigree in your exact field isn't the filter. The disposition above is.
