Studios · Open role

Take a venture to market and make people stay.

You own the go-to-market half of a studio venture: positioning, the right channels, the funnel from first touch to first value, and the retention loops that turn one session into a habit. Whichever venture Studios pushes next.

Remote-first · EU / CET overlap · Contract or full-time

Mission

What the role does and why it matters here.

Studios builds companies around founders who already know their market. Once the product exists, the harder problem is getting it in front of people and making them stay, and that half is yours: positioning, the channels that fit the category, the funnel from first touch to first value, and the retention loops that turn a first session into a habit. You work across whichever venture Studios is pushing to market, from a hospitality-adjacent product like Spaces to a private consumer product, and each growth motion looks different by design. You set the plan, run the experiments, and carry the engine far enough to support a dedicated hire of its own.

Responsibilities

What you would own.

Set the positioning

Set the market positioning for a studio venture: who it's for, what it displaces, and the one sentence that has to be true for the rest of the funnel to work.

Choose and run channels

Choose and run the channels that fit the venture, not a generic playbook: paid, organic, partnerships, community, whatever the category actually rewards.

Build the funnel

Build the funnel from first touch to first value, and instrument it so the team can see where people actually drop off.

Design retention loops

Design and iterate the retention loops that turn a first session into a habit, specific to what "coming back" means for that venture.

Work with founder and product

Work directly with a venture's founder and product designer so growth and product decisions inform each other instead of competing.

Run experiments

Run experiments fast, kill the ones that don't move a real number, and write down what you learned either way.

Carry it to a clean handoff

Carry a venture's growth motion far enough that it can support its own dedicated hire, then hand it off cleanly.

How you think and work

Six traits the work demands.

Pedigree isn't the filter. Disposition is. The six traits below are what the work actually asks of you.

  1. Agentic intuition

You read agents the way a manager reads a direct report: when to trust the output, when to interrupt the run, when to take the wheel back.

You can tell when a funnel metric is trending because something real changed versus because of noise, and you don't chase noise.

  2. Critical thinking

Confident-sounding output gets the same scrutiny as anything else, your own work included.

You've killed a channel everyone liked because the numbers did not justify keeping it.

  3. Curiosity

You pull on threads. You read outside the lane. You follow a question past the first plausible answer.

You dig into why a cohort churns instead of just reporting that it did.

  4. Agency

You move without being told. You decide, ship, own the call. No one has to write the playbook for you.

You've launched the campaign or the loop nobody assigned you, because the venture needed it now.

  5. Systems thinking, long view

You see how the parts connect, and where this goes in three years.

You build the first funnel knowing it has to survive a rewrite once the venture finds its real audience.

  6. Leadership instinct

You orchestrate work across humans, agents, and stakeholders. You switch register between a workspace ticket, an architect call, and a senior bank room in the same day without losing what you came in to say.

You align a founder and a product designer around one growth story instead of three competing ones.

Useful background

  • You've taken a product from near-zero users to a growth engine that didn't depend on you personally running every channel forever.
  • You write positioning and messaging yourself, not just brief a copywriter.
  • You've built and read a funnel end to end: you know where your own numbers come from, not just what a dashboard tells you.
  • You've designed a retention loop, not just an acquisition channel, and watched whether it actually changed behavior.
  • You're comfortable being the only growth person in the room, setting the plan rather than executing someone else's.
  • You've worked across more than one kind of product or category, so you're not just replaying one playbook.
  • You've grown a consumer or dating-adjacent product where trust and first impression gate everything downstream.
  • You've grown a hospitality, real estate, or local-service business where growth is partly digital and partly reputation.
  • You've built the initial growth motion for an early-stage venture from inside a studio, incubator, or founder team.
  • You have a point of view on which channels are overrated right now, and can defend it with more than a hunch.

Pedigree in your exact field isn't the filter. The disposition above is.
