Core · Open role

Turn the founder's attention into follow-through.

You run the operating cadence, own what happens after a decision is made, and coordinate work across Labs, Studios, and Systems. You help the founder get more done, without taking over his decisions.

Mission

What the role does and why it matters here.

Lucentive runs on decisions made once and followed through, not relitigated every week. You make that true. You run the operating cadence, the reviews and check-ins that actually need to exist, and you own what happens after a decision is made: who does what, by when, and what changes if they don't. You sit close to the founder without filtering his judgment: you decide what reaches him, what gets handled underneath him, and what has to move across Labs, Studios, and Systems.

Responsibilities

What you would own.

Run the operating cadence

Run the operating cadence: the recurring reviews and check-ins that keep the pillars honest, and cut the ones that have stopped earning their slot.

Own decision follow-through

Own decision follow-through, track what was decided, who owns it, and surface it again the moment it stalls, not the moment it's overdue.

Coordinate across the pillars

Coordinate work that crosses Labs, Studios, and Systems, where no single pillar has the authority or context to close the loop alone.

Prepare the founder

Prepare the founder for the conversations that matter: the brief that lets him walk in already knowing the one thing he needs to know.

Triage what reaches him

Triage what reaches the founder directly against what a written decision or a delegated call can resolve without him.

Own the written record

Own the written record of each operating cycle: what was decided and why, so decisions don't get remade from memory months later.

How you think and work

Six traits the work demands.

Pedigree isn't the filter. Disposition is. The six traits below are what the work actually asks of you.

  1. Agentic intuition

You read agents the way a manager reads a direct report: when to trust the output, when to interrupt the run, when to take the wheel back.

You know which of the founder's AI-drafted decisions are ready to execute and which ones need a human read before they go anywhere.

  2. Critical thinking

Confident-sounding output gets the same scrutiny as anything else, your own work included.

You've caught a decision that sounded settled in the room but wasn't actually resolved, and said so before it caused a problem.

  3. Curiosity

You pull on threads. You read outside the lane. You follow a question past the first plausible answer.

You ask why a recurring meeting still exists before you ask what's on this week's agenda.

  4. Agency

You move without being told. You decide, ship, own the call. No one has to write the playbook for you.

You've closed a loop across two teams that neither one owned, because otherwise it would have sat open indefinitely.

  5. Systems thinking, long view

You see how the parts connect, and where this goes in three years.

You design the cadence knowing the version that works at a handful of people breaks once Lucentive is bigger, and you build for that version.

  6. Leadership instinct

You orchestrate work across humans, agents, and stakeholders. You switch register between a workspace ticket, an architect call, and a senior bank room in the same day without losing what you came in to say.

You keep a founder's priorities clear across a Labs standup, a Studios board prep, and a Systems client call in the same day.

Useful background

  • You have run point on operating cadence or chief-of-staff-style work for a founder or senior executive, not just supported their calendar.
  • You write a decision memo or follow-up note a busy founder can act on without a meeting to unpack it.
  • You can track context across genuinely different businesses at once without flattening them into one operating model.
  • You chase a stalled decision without needing to be told twice that it's stalled.
  • You exercise judgment about what needs the founder's attention and what doesn't, and you're right often enough to be trusted with it.
  • You've worked inside a multi-entity or multi-business-line structure where coordination costs were real, not theoretical.
  • You've built or run an operating cadence (weekly reviews, check-ins, board prep) from scratch.
  • You've been the person a founder trusted with unfinished thoughts and turned them into a plan.

Pedigree in your exact field isn't the filter. The disposition above is.
