Core · Open role

Open the doors Lucentive has to walk through.

You open market and partnership conversations across Labs, Studios, and Systems. You own each deal from first contact to signature, then stay close enough that the receiving team inherits a relationship, not a cold contract.

Remote-first · EU / CET overlap · Contract or full-time

Mission

What the role does and why it matters here.

Lucentive grows by opening doors it then has to walk through: a partner conversation becomes a Systems engagement, a market signal becomes a Studios venture. You own that opening move across the commercial pillars, reading which pillar a conversation belongs in and building the relationship that gets it there. You own the pipeline end to end, from first conversation to signature, and stay close enough to the handoff that the receiving pillar inherits a relationship, not just a contract.

Responsibilities

What you would own.

Open and route conversations

Open and qualify new market and partnership conversations across Labs, Studios, and Systems, and route each one to the pillar it actually belongs to.

Own the deal to signature

Own the deal from first conversation to signed engagement, including scoping calls, terms, and handoff to the delivery team.

Build the partner map

Build the partner and market map: who Lucentive should be talking to next, and why, before the opportunity is obvious.

Structure deliverable terms

Structure engagement terms with the receiving pillar's operating lead, so what gets signed is something the team can actually deliver.

Carry the relationship past signature

Maintain the relationship past signature long enough that the receiving pillar inherits trust, not a cold handoff.

Represent Lucentive

Represent Lucentive in market and partner conversations with the judgment to know when a relationship isn't going to work, and end it early.

Feed market signal back

Feed market signal back into Lucentive: what partners are asking for that no current pillar serves yet.

How you think and work

Six traits the work demands.

Pedigree isn't the filter. Disposition is. The six traits below are what the work actually asks of you.

  1. Agentic intuition

You read agents the way a manager reads a direct report: when to trust the output, when to interrupt the run, when to take the wheel back.

You know when to let an AI-drafted outreach or research brief go out as-is and when the read on a partner is subtle enough that you rewrite it yourself.

  2. Critical thinking

Confident-sounding output gets the same scrutiny as anything else, your own work included.

You've walked away from a deal that looked good on the pipeline report because the fit underneath it wasn't real.

  3. Curiosity

You pull on threads. You read outside the lane. You follow a question past the first plausible answer.

You ask a prospective partner about their actual problem long after the pitch would have ended the conversation.

  4. Agency

You move without being told. You decide, ship, own the call. No one has to write the playbook for you.

You've opened a market or partnership conversation nobody assigned you, because waiting for a mandate would have meant losing it.

  5. Systems thinking, long view

You see how the parts connect, and where this goes in three years.

You structure the first engagement knowing it has to survive contact with the arm that will actually deliver it.

  6. Leadership instinct

You orchestrate work across humans, agents, and stakeholders. You switch register between a workspace ticket, an architect call, and a senior bank room in the same day without losing what you came in to say.

You carry the same conversation from a founder's message to a partner's legal team without losing the thread that started it.

Useful background

  • You have run a B2B sales or partnerships pipeline from cold conversation to signed contract, not just managed inbound leads.
  • You can qualify an opportunity fast: which pillar it belongs to, whether Lucentive can actually deliver it, whether it's worth the effort.
  • You negotiate engagement terms directly, comfortable structuring scope and pricing conversations without a template to follow.
  • You write clearly enough that a partner reads your follow-up and trusts the next meeting is worth having.
  • You work across distinct businesses (experiments, ventures, enterprise software) without flattening them into one pitch.
  • You've sold or partnered into enterprise or regulated environments, where the cycle runs through several stakeholders.
  • You've built a venture studio's or agency's partner network from close to zero.
  • You've carried a relationship from an initial deal into a second and third engagement.

Pedigree in your exact field isn't the filter. The disposition above is.
