Spaces & Estates · Open role

Design fitness that lasts a resident's whole stay.

You design and deliver strength, mobility, and longevity work for residents, indoors or out in the landscape, matched to their body and schedule. You see the same people near-daily for weeks, not a gym-membership relationship.

Cascais coast, Portugal · On-location · Full-time or seasonal

Mission

What the role does and why it matters here.

Lucentive Spaces, the hospitality venture inside Lucentive Studios, treats movement as one of the conditions that keeps residents able to do their best work, not an amenity. As Personal Trainer you design and deliver that programming for the people staying at a property, indoors or out in the landscape, matched to their body, their schedule, and what they're actually there to do. This isn't a gym-membership relationship. You see the same people daily or near-daily, across weeks, and the program has to stay effective over that whole stretch.

Responsibilities

What you would own.

Design individual programs

Design individualized strength, mobility, and conditioning programs for residents and guests.

Deliver in any setting

Deliver sessions in whatever setting fits: a home gym, the landscape outside, or an improvised space.

Track and adjust

Track how a program is landing and adjust it as a person's schedule, energy, or goals shift.

Take a longevity view

Take a longevity view: build programs that stay effective over months, not just produce a good week.

Coordinate with chef and recovery

Coordinate with the chef and wellness practitioner so movement, food, and recovery aren't working against each other.

Read injury risk early

Read injury risk and fatigue early, and adjust before a small issue becomes a setback.

Maintain the training spaces

Keep equipment and training spaces in proper working order.

How you think and work

Six traits the work demands.

Craft and hands-on experience matter here, and the useful background below names what we look for. But the filter underneath is disposition: the six traits are what the work actually asks of you, every day, around residents and guests.

  1. Agentic intuition

You read a room and the people in it the way a seasoned host does: you notice when something is off before it's said, and you know when to step in and when to leave well alone.

You can tell when someone's pushing through fatigue instead of training through it, and you adjust the session before they ask.

  2. Critical thinking

Confident-sounding output gets the same scrutiny as anything else, your own work included.

When a program isn't producing the result it should, you question your own plan before you question the client.

  3. Curiosity

You pull on threads. You read outside the lane. You follow a question past the first plausible answer.

You keep learning new approaches to mobility and longevity instead of running the same program on everyone.

  4. Agency

You move without being told. You decide, ship, own the call. No one has to write the playbook for you.

You've redesigned a session on the spot because the plan didn't fit the day, without waiting for permission.

  5. Systems thinking, long view

You see how the parts connect, and where this goes in three years.

You build programs for where someone's body needs to be next year, not just how sore they feel tomorrow.

  6. Leadership instinct

You set a clear standard for the people around you and maintain it under pressure, moving between a guest, a vendor, and your own team in the same hour without losing what matters.

Clients trust your call on when to push and when to pull back, even when they'd rather push.

Useful background

  • Certified personal training experience with real client programming, not just group classes.
  • Working knowledge of strength, mobility, and longevity-focused training, not a single specialty.
  • Comfort training people at very different fitness levels within the same week.
  • Ability to read a body's limits and adjust a session on the spot.
  • Portuguese or English fluent enough for daily coaching.
  • Experience training founders, executives, or people on demanding, irregular schedules.
  • Background in a complementary discipline: physiotherapy, movement coaching, or a specific sport.
  • Comfort programming outdoors and adapting to landscape, weather, and terrain.

The useful background is where the craft shows; the traits are where the fit does. We read an application for both. Applications in English or Portuguese are equally welcome.
