Spaces & Estates · Open role

Keep the house running before anyone has to ask.

You keep a hundred small things right and on time: errands, deliveries, room turnarounds, guest questions answered before they become complaints. You move through the house all day alongside the Estate Manager.

Mission

What the role does and why it matters here.

Lucentive Spaces runs its Portuguese-coast sanctuaries on a simple premise: residents build, and the household handles everything else. That runs on a hundred small things done right and on time, an errand run, a delivery received, a room turned around, a guest question answered before it becomes a complaint. You run that layer, working closely with the Estate Manager but moving through the house all day yourself. It's hands-on: you do the work, not just coordinate it, and you notice what needs doing before anyone points at it.

Responsibilities

What you would own.

Keep daily operations running

Keep daily household operations running: errands, deliveries, room turnovers, small repairs, restocking.

Support guests directly

Support guests directly with requests that come up outside scheduled service (an early arrival, a change of plan, a question about the area).

Care for the property

Care for the property itself, noticing wear, damage, or maintenance needs and flagging or fixing them.

Coordinate the moving parts

Coordinate with the chef, housekeeping, and Estate Manager so the day's moving parts don't collide.

Handle in-between logistics

Handle logistics that don't belong to any one role: transport, deliveries, last-minute changes.

Keep shared spaces guest-ready

Keep shared spaces guest-ready at all times, not just before an arrival.

Step into the day's gap

Step in wherever the day's gap is, without waiting to be told which gap that is.

How you think and work

Six traits the work demands.

Craft and hands-on experience matter here, and the useful background below names what we look for. But the filter underneath is disposition: the six traits are what the work actually asks of you, every day, around residents and guests.

  1. Agentic intuition

You read a room and the people in it the way a seasoned host does: you notice when something is off before it's said, and you know when to step in and when to leave well alone.

You notice a guest is about to ask for something and have it sorted before the question leaves their mouth.

  2. Critical thinking

Confident-sounding output gets the same scrutiny as anything else, your own work included.

When a request seems simple but isn't (an early arrival that collides with housekeeping), you see the collision before it happens.

  3. Curiosity

You pull on threads. You read outside the lane. You follow a question past the first plausible answer.

You learn a property's quirks, which tap runs hot fast, which gate sticks, without anyone briefing you.

  4. Agency

You move without being told. You decide, ship, own the call. No one has to write the playbook for you.

You've fixed or handled a problem on the spot because finding the right person to ask would have taken longer than solving it.

  5. Systems thinking, long view

You see how the parts connect, and where this goes in three years.

You notice which small issues, left alone, turn into big ones, and you deal with them at the small stage.

  6. Leadership instinct

You set a clear standard for the people around you and maintain it under pressure, moving between a guest, a vendor, and your own team in the same hour without losing what matters.

Other staff know they can hand you something mid-task and it will get finished right.

Useful background

  • Experience in private household service, hospitality operations, or a comparably hands-on service role.
  • Comfortable doing physical, practical work as part of the day, not just organizing it.
  • Judgment about what a guest needs to be told versus what should just get handled quietly.
  • Reliable under a schedule that changes without warning.
  • Portuguese or English fluent enough for daily guest and team interaction.
  • A valid driver's license and comfort running errands independently.
  • Experience living on-site or in a live-in household role.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills (a stuck door, a Wi-Fi drop, a tripped breaker) that save a maintenance callout.

The useful background is where the craft shows; the traits are where the fit does. We read an application for both. Applications in English or Portuguese are equally welcome.
